In today’s financial industry and in the years to come, FinTech professionals will be indispensable. According to the latest recruitment plans in 2021, major financial holding companies in Taiwan—such as Fubon Financial, Cathay Financial, and CTBC Financial—have all identified FinTech professionals as one of their key recruitment targets. International management consulting firms estimate that by 2025, around 7%–10% of the workforce in the financial services industry will be automated, and approximately 43%–48% of jobs will require collaboration with digital technologies.

As a result, market demand for FinTech talent will continue to grow. Through the development of this master’s degree program, we aim to cultivate professional leaders equipped with strong FinTech capabilities. In addition to recruiting local students, the program also admits talents from Europe, the United States, and Southeast Asia. Several overseas universities have already expressed interest in establishing student exchange partnerships with this program, in order to jointly respond to the global demand for FinTech professionals.

Moreover, this program is designed to balance local development with international engagement and is expected to become a key hub for nurturing FinTech talent in Asia. In doing so, it further strengthens our university’s role as an educational center in the Yunlin–Chiayi region.
